Antonin Baudry’s De Gaulle: Tilting Iron and De Gaulle: The Sovereign Edge form an ambitious historical diptych tracing Charles de Gaulle’s rise during the Second World War and his transformation into one of France’s defining statesmen. Led by Simon Abkarian and featuring an outstanding cast including Niels Schneider, Anamaria Vartolomei, Benoît Magimel, Karim Leklou, Thierry Lhermitte, Simon Russell Beale, and Campbell Scott, the two films combine political drama with large-scale historical storytelling. The first chapter, De Gaulle: Tilting Iron, premiered Out of Competition at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
In Visitation, acclaimed filmmaker Volker Schlöndorff adapts Jenny Erpenbeck’s celebrated novel into a sweeping historical fresco spanning nearly a century of German history. Led by an outstanding ensemble cast including Martina Gedeck, Lars Eidinger, Susanne Wolff, Ulrich Matthes, Detlev Buck and Michael Maertens, the film follows the intertwined destinies of several families connected to a house by a lake near Berlin. Blending intimate human stories with the upheavals of the twentieth century, Visitation had its world premiere in the Cannes Première section of the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
With Karma, Guillaume Canet returns to the thriller genre twenty years after Tell No One, delivering a tense psychological thriller built around mystery, suspicion and pursuit. The film stars Marion Cotillard in the lead role as Jeanne, alongside Denis Ménochet, Leonardo Sbaraglia and Luis Zahera. Marking the ninth collaboration between Canet and Cotillard, Karma follows a woman forced to confront her troubled past after the disappearance of a young child plunges her into a desperate flight across Spain and France. Combining emotional intensity with Hitchcockian suspense, the film had its world premiere Out of Competition at the 2026 Cannes Film Festival.
